Whether you’re a farmer or a small food processor, the application process requires you to submit the completed Taking Stock workbook and the application form. The documents are slightly different depending on which category you fall into. See below to find the ones that are right for you.

Step 1:
Download and complete the Taking Stock Workbook and Project Proposal document.
  • Download the Taking Stock workbook here. The workbook is now a fillable PDF, so after you download it you can fill it out on-screen, save it, and email it. There is no web-based version.
  • Download the Project Proposal template here. The proposal is a one-page, 6- to 8-bullet outline of what the advisor plans to do. You can fill it out or you can have your Wikads representative do it for you.
  • Click here to begin the web-based Taking Stock process. This is by far the easiest way to get the workbook done. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select new or existing farmer.
  • There is also a fillable PDF. Those who prefer pen and paper can print it and fill it out by hand; you can also fill it out on-screen, save it, and email it.

  • To skip Tier 1 or to apply for both tiers simultaneously, farmers must submit a Tier-2 Project Proposal. The proposal is a one-page, 6- to 8-bullet outline of what the advisor plans to do. You can fill it out or you can have your Wikads representative do it for you. A template is here.

Step 2:
Complete the Application Form, print, sign, and fax or email to the address on the form.

Whatever category you're in, you must specify an advisor on your application form. If you are a small food producer or a farmer applying for Tier-2, your advisor is

Now that you've applied...

Applications are generally reviewed within a few days. If you don’t hear anything within a week of submitting your application, please contact your Wikads representative. If you get lost or stuck, your Wikads representative will be more than happy to help.
